E‑Passport Online Registration Portal Bangladesh-www.epassport.gov.bd. The electronic passport or e-passport will become operational in 6 districts of the country on Thursday. This will speed up immigration. If you leave your passport at the designated place of the e-gate, the camera will take pictures. Bangladesh has made unprecedented progress in the socio-economic field including information technology and Bangladesh is moving forward at an indomitable pace under the leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, daughter of Bangabandhu, with the aim of establishing ‘Sonar Bangla’ as dreamed by the Father of the Nation. Different fees have been set for different types of pages of these passports, which will remain valid for between 5 and 10 years. The government is currently considering issuing passports for a period of five and ten years.

Step 1: Visit your Passport Office for biometric enrolment
- Make sure you have all the required documents with you when you visit the passport office.

E-passport facility
The biggest advantage of an e-passport is that it allows travelers to travel very quickly and easily using an e-gate. Electronic passports were originally scheduled to become operational in all districts of the country on November 10. E-passports will have several categories. 
Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal will virtually inaugurate e-passport activities in Chandpur, Narayanganj, Cox’s Bazar, Bandarban, Rangamati, and Khagrachhari districts on Thursday afternoon.
How to check an e-passport online
Applicants need to contact the Embassy preferably over the telephone for confirmation of the arrival of passports from Dhaka. Superintendent of Chandpur district passport office Md Mridul Bhuiyan confirmed the matter, reports Bangla Tribune. New MRP will be handed over along with the old passport (with observation or cancellation seal) after taking signature on the acknowledgment of receipt.
Upon confirmation from the Embassy, the applicant shall come to the Embassy in person along with his or her old Bangladesh Passport and delivery slip, and present the delivery slip and the old passport to the counter.
